With multiplayer technology, the mobile esports platform hopes to increase its list of supported titles.

The investment will provide the company permanent access to the developer’s multiplayer technology, which will be used “exclusively to power its esports competitions and platform.”

Andrew Paradise, the CEO, and founder of Skillz has joined Exit Games’ board of directors as an observer.

Developers and publishers will be able to produce new products on the platform, which will let them add new genres to their portfolio, such as battle royale games.  It will also allow them to build features alongside Exit Games’ technology, according to the company.

“Bringing the world’s best synchronous, multiplayer gaming technology to Skillz opens us the tremendous possibility, considerably speeding up our entry into popular genres like fighting, first-person shooter, and racing,” Paradise stated.

Skillz previously acquired Aarki, a mobile marketing platform, for $150 million in June.
